A Great Comment/Question about the GJ Guitar Lessons

Brad,

Thanks for the quick reply, despite being on vacation.  Hope it was great!!

Seeing that your first lesson course is six weeks, what is the ideal time practicing per day that would accomplish a 6 week 'graduation'?

p.s. I am not asking for video lessons, I just was curious because if you did not have videos then I could take 'you' anywhere on my MP3 player; whereas I would have to take my laptop, find a place to put it...yada yada yada. :)

Thanks,
John

Sweet... yes---THERE ARE advantages to the mp3 (audio) lesson format.  I actually think the info is communicated pretty clearly... so good... I'm glad you're benefitting from them...

HOW LONG/MUCH TO PRACTICE:
Great question... everybody is different---so there's not ONE answer here... bu, GENNERALLY, I preach, "20/5"...I.e. 20 minutes per day.... 5 days per week.  If you have more time---awesome...but if you will be committed to that amount---you'll experience progress.

AN ADDITIONAL THOUGHT:
HOW you practice is KEY.  Do not just "jam" or "noodle around" with stuff you can already play.  Always load the front end of your practice time with those skills you are working on... that you either can't do yet... or have not mastered yet...  this should be the "bulk" of your practice time.    THEN, you can spend the last 1/3 of your practice time jamming on the "fun" stuff :- )   The good news is that the longer you play... the MORE FUN STUFF you will have to jam on!

Blessings,
Pastor Brad
