Yes, I will be your teacher, but my lessons
are NOT just about me dishing out
information. Every lesson will include fun conversation, interaction and opportunities
to get to know each other.

PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTION
No doubt about it... you will learn how to play the guitar! And I will taylor my instruction to you. I have excellent material to share with you--whether you're an absolute beginner or a very experienced player. We'll talk about your goals and then we'll construct a plan to help you achieve them!

QUALITY INSTRUCTION
You'll learn chords, scales, riffs, tricks, technique, exercises to improve desterity, speed, strength, flexibility, accuracy, etc., how to play your favorite songs, how to solo in key and over a variety of time signatures, practical music theory, imprivisation, ear training, how to write songs AND MORE!

PATIENCE and ENCOURAGEMENT
I totally understand that (especially for beginners) learning to play the guitar can seem overwhelming. I will be your greatest fan! We'll take all the time you need on each lesson and I'll do everything I can to help you succeed and have FUN doing it!

A Thumb-nail Sketch....
As a student of mine you'll take a lesson with me in my home studio each week at a set time. We'll take time each lesson to talk about how things are going... get tuned up... go over the past week's lesson and highlight any areas that need attention... I'll introduce you to the next lesson and we'll spend some time making sure you understand it.

When time permits we'll spend a few minutes "jamming together." NOTHING will help you develop as a player like actually playing music with other muscians -- be that with tracks or in person. So, we'll look for opportunities to "jam" as much as possible."

The last 5-10 minutes of each lesson will be used to answer any questions you have--and prepare your lesson email. Each lesson I will email you any instruction, charts, tabs, audio or video files, etc. for that week's lesson. So, you'll be able to archive all of your lessons on your computer and/or print them out.

At any point along the way--I encourage you to say, "Hey Brad, I'd like to learn this song!" If you're ready for it--we'll tackle it--and if you're not quite ready for it we'll taylor your lessons to get you ready!

We'll progress at your pace. After all, these are your lessons. I'll go as fast or as slow as you're ready to go. Of course, there may be times when I will place limits on how much I saddle you with in a lesson -- too much info all at once can actually stifle progress. Bottom line: I will do my very best to make sure that you enjoy your lessons and get a lot out of them. My philosophy has always been, "Work hard and take what you do seriously---but not too seriously--aftet all what's the point in learning how to play the coolest instrument in the world if it's not fun?"
