Where's home for you? I live in Leeds Alabama..right outside Birmingham Favorite Guitar(s)? My old Kramer Baretta. It's a mutt consisting of a 80's Kramer body with Floyd Rose, Chandler neck, Seymour Duncan JB's. I just love that guitar. How would you describe your playing style? I would say it definitely reminds someone of the 80's metal genre. I'm going for a melodic metal sound with a touch of speed. What/who inspired you to play the guitar? I guess I could say I was really hooked on wanting to play guitar back in 1974 when I discovered KISS. Ace Frehley was my guitar hero and I thought his playing was the best. I started learning guitar with Doug Marks 'Metal Method'. After I began playing, and after I dedicated my life to Jesus, my inspiration came from wanting to play the metal music I always wanted to hear in a context where it could also witness to the lost. Other players who have inspired me include Rex Carroll, Dennis Cameron, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch, Joe Satriani, Michaelangelo, and Doug Marks. Outside of the projects with Pastor Brad, have you released other music people can check out? I'm on Pastor Brad's Shred project that people can check out at his website. I also have a couple of tunes up at ttp://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/andyengland.htm . I'm currently writing/ rehearsing material for a future CD with appearences by Dennis Cameron of Angelica/Cynical Limit and Tim Gaines of Stryper. Any additional comments? I appreciate the opportunity to be on Brad's discs. He has some real talent lined up on his Reshredded and Shredded Sweet projects and I feel priveleged to be playing with such an elite group of musicians. I appreciate the love of music and guitar playing that the Lord has given me. |
