The following is a brief interview I did with the Christian Metal Realm, 12/08/06 Give me a brief history of the band... I'm a pastor full-time so the time requirements of being in a "band" are just too much for me. But I love to jam ... and with the rise of PC recording software like (Cakewalk) and the awesome tool of the web, God opened a door for me to record music and share it with people all over the www! I launched www.guitarjams.net back in April of 04 with the simultaneous releases of "Get Real" and "Rock You Up." Since that time, I've just continued to meet tons of awesome people all over the world, crank out new metal for the glory of God and grow the ministry of Guitar Jams! How did you guys come to be on The Narrow Path compilation? I hang out at the CMR fairly often. I love that place--what a great community of Christian Metal Heads! Anyway--I connected with Arttie and the rest is, as they say, history.... via conversation Arttie asked if I would be interested in submitting a song and I jumped all over the opportunity. How would you describe the sound of the band? Hmmmm... well, all of my influences are old school 80s metal (AC/DC, Ozzy, Kiss, JP, Maiden, Dokken, Kiss, etc....) ... but with the release of my Shred stuff, things have taken a little bit of a progressive turn... So, I guess, if you took Angus Young, Randy Rhoads and Ace Frehley, and combined them with Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Vinnie Moore, you might begin to get something that sounds like my stuff! LOL! What would you say the focus or main purpose of the band is? Jammin for Jesus, touching lives, and also, just to rock! What does the future hold for the band? My goals are pretty ambitious--at least they feel that way for me in light of the fact that this is supposed to be a "side thing" LOL!!!!! In 07 I hope to release two, perhaps three, more instrumental discs: RESHREDDED a project with some unbelievable guests on it--Richard Lynch and Dee Harrington of Saint, Jon Hooper, Andy England, Joe Nardulli, Jim Griffin and David Jacob. SHREDDED SWEET another talent packed shredster! Jon, Andy, Joe, Jim and David will be on this one ... and you'll also get a chance to hear Sonny--a KILLER player from PA! NOTE: 90% of the recording for both RESHREDDE and SHREDDED SWEET is already done... it' sjust a matter of dumping them from Guitar Tracks 2 - into my new Guitar Tracks Pro3, playing around with any additions/overdubs I feel a need to perform, and the production work! SHREDOMATIC will be a totally new venture!
