My personal "shred philosophy" Have you ever noticed how many different sub-genres of "metal" exist out there? There's nu-metal, white metal, death metal, goth, classic, heavy, progressive, etc. metal. Well, it's sort of like that with the genre called "shred" too. There's neo-classical, melodic/ progressive, experimental, etc. My version of shred is sort of a conglomeration of serveral of those "sub genres". Just imagine taking a little bit of Angus Young (AC/DC), Randy Rhoads (Ozzy), Ace Frehley (KISS), Adrian Smith & Dave Murray (Iron Maiden), Joe Satriani and Eddie Van Halen -- and blending a bit of all of them into a single style--and whala, you have my shred style... it's aggressive, bluesy, melodic, a bit technical--it has it's experimental moments, and it's very "song oriented". When I say "song oriented" I mean I treat my instrumental tracks like real songs! I.e. I don't just lay
down some riffs so I can rip off a bunch of notes over them. I really try
to think about introductions, melody and harmony lines, choruses, etc. for each
song. |
What others are saying about my Instrumental Shred Music "This CD "Shred" SHREDS!!!!! This is must have metal at it's finest. Pastor Brad is blessed with the AWESOME ability to play like the big boys and even better. It's also must play material at grandma's house during Christmas present opening time, it will be a tradition through out the years and Grandma will love it, so get
one for her too!" Richard Lynch of SAINT "Hey Brad, I just finished listening to your CD Shred and I must say I'm impressed, you do shred! What a cool website and what a blessing to find it. Like you I cut my teeth on guitar driven 80's
metal and all those great guitar heroes and lately I had really been hungering
for music that was just saturated with rippin guitar solos and that's when I
found your site after doing a web search for Christian Metal. I look forward to
checking out other projects of yours in the near future. You definitely hold your own against
the big boys, keep up the great guitar work... awesome job!" Todd "Hey Pastor Brad, I just wanted to say that I love the Shred CD you sent me for my station! Wow! You did a great job on that CD! My favorites are "Shred", "Pulse", and "Better Daze". I'm currently playing "Shred" but will rotate the
other two songs periodically as well. I also liked hearing the Christmas songs
and will definitely be adding those during the holdiay season. Thanks
for blessing me with your music!" Ross Metal Sword Radio |

"Must have if you are into guitar solos! Fans of Slav Simanic, Rex Carroll, Joe Satriani
etc will love this!" Johannes Johnson, MetalforJesus.org |

SHREDOMATIC, when completed will be a brand new sort of release for me--sort of a hybrid-Instru-METAL/Vocal
release. About 1/2 of the songs will be vocal based tunes and
1/2 will be instruMENTAL. That's why you'll also find this disc listed
on my "Metal with vocals" page. It will also feature some stellar guest musicians! How many? Not sure yet... keep checking the SHREDOMATIC page for updates! TAKE A CLOSER LOOK Metal Blessings, pb. |

ZEAL--will be jamming on this one! Along with some other friends I'm in
the midst of inviting! Heavenly Shred will be a collection of Instrumental Metal versions of some Classic Hymns of The Church--along with 5 or so praise tunes I've written (done pb metal style of course!) Release date: TBA |

Oh yeah! It's obvious where the inspiration is coming from for this one!
This one is going to feature myself and Dee Harrington, and maybe some other's
before it's over... Every single song is going to be inspired by images of
Angus bobbing up and down and cranking out timeless, classic riffs! AC/DC
inspired, InstruMETAL-- what more needs to be said!? I also want you to notice the BC/AD theme... I.e. "Before Christ" and "Anno Domini" ... The songs on this disc will follow major themes of the Old and New Testaments. It's kind of hard to explain, but you'll get it. Release date? Who knows??? I'm just thrilled to be working on it... I'll keep you posted!" |

Release Date: TBA Inspired by the grinding, churning, thunderous rythyms of Judas Priest--this disc--when completed--will be unique among the PB collection. It will contain a pulsating mixture of vocal and instrumental tunes that will grind and groove like nothing I've done to this point. This disc will also showcase some experimental elements that to this point have not surfaced on anyPB disc. The guest players are yet to chosen... Some experimental elements may include: Chords layered in 5ths. Synth Bass layered over Bass Guitar parts Multiple tracks of each part (with slightly different affects) mixed into each track/part... And more... |
