Where’s home for you? New York City Favorite Guitar(s)? I played a Washburn G-35V from 1985 through 2005. I wore that guitar out and it has virtually no frets left! I now play Brian Moore Custom Shop guitars exclusively and currently have a C55P.13 and a C55P. How would you describe your playing style? Highly melodic with thematic elements running throughout. I really don't think of myself as a shredder as I tend to focus more on composition/melodic ideas rather than technique. That said, I'd like to think I'm a cross between Eric Johnson, Steve Morse and a little bit of John Petrucci. What/who inspired you to play the guitar? I was originally inspired by what I heard on the radio as kid, just picking up songs I liked. Then I got into Led Zeppelin which took it to another level. Then Randy Rhoads and Joe Satriani. The clincher was when I discovered Eric Johnson, Steve Morse and Shawn Lane; that's when my compositional sense really took flight. Coupled with my spiritual growth, I found myself writing songs that really inspired me and had a real positive, uplifting vibe. Reviews and basic comments on my debut CD reinforced those feelings and I knew I was headed in the right direction. Outside of the projects with Pastor Brad, have you released other music people can out? I have a self-titled, debut CD which was released in late 2003 with a follow up due later this year. I also played on a vocal progressive rock CD for the band Celestial Oeuvre. Samples from all this material can be checked out at www.joenardulli.com/tunes.htm Any additional comments? I'm really happy to be a part of this project and hope I can add something distinctive and uplifting. I'm humbled by it all. God Bless! |
