What is the PB METAL MILITIA?

Do you remember the KISS ARMY?  I sure do!  In January 1975, Starkey and Evans, two teenage Kiss fans from Terre Haute, Indiana, began contacting local radio station WVTS in an effort to get Kiss music played. After being repeatedly turned down by program director Rich Dickerson, Starkey and Evans began calling WVTS claiming to be "the Kiss Army." Additionally, they sent letters to the station and signed them, "Bill Starkey–President of the Kiss Army," and "Jay Evans–Field Marshall."[1] By July 1975, WVTS had begun to play Kiss records, often referring to the Kiss Army. Some of the letters included threats to blow up the station.[2] Before long, listeners started calling the station asking how they could enlist.  

When I was a kid in 1970s I was so into being part of the KISS ARMYt!  KISS was the "greatest band in the world!" to me and I was an ambassador for them---everywhere I went I talked about how cool I thought they were and how much I loved their music.  The amazing thing about KISS in the 1970s was that they didn't receive very much radio air time---but THEY DIDN'T NEED IT---because they had this MASSIVE FAN BASE---THIS ARMY OF FANS who were devoted to promoting them.  Amazing. 

If you are a Christ-follower and a metal fan---think about this, "If fans of KISS were willing to form an ARMY for the sake of promoting KISS' fame and earning them cash---can we not come together and muster a MILITIA of God Honoring Heavy Metal Maniacs for the purpose of spreading the word about metal music that both ROCKS and EXALTS JESUS CHRIST?  THAT is what being part of the PB METAL MILITIA is all about!  If you haven't already done so, I strongly encourage you to scroll up and listen to the audio message I have above... it will give you an even more complete sense of what the M.M. is all about.

UPDATES on all of my music projects, gigs, ministry opportunities, etc.  CONNECTION we can interact anytime--I love to connect with fellow metal heads!  Plus you can hang out in the Guitar Jams Forum and talk music, faith, etc. and get to know some great people.  ENCOURAGEMENT a BIG part of my reason for being on the web is to encourage people and help them grow in Christ.  Sure I'd love to have you as a fan--but having you as a friend and a Bro or Sis is even better--so in each note I send out--I'm always coming from a place of wanting to encourage you in your life and in your faith.  FREE MUSIC I'm always thinking of fun and creative ways to give you a chance to win free mp3s--and sometimes I just like to give 'em to you for being part of the Militia!  I'll send you MP3s and say--"Okay--enjoy this and send it out to 10,000 of your closest friends nad tell them to chekc out www.guitarjams.net!!  DISCOVER REALLY COOL MUSIC I surf the web constantly looking for bands and quality rock/metal related sites--in each M.M. Newsletter that I send you--I'll include links to some of these discoveries.  OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP CHANGE LIVES!  I am CONSTANTLY seeking out ways to spread THE WORD -- I mean that in two ways-- 1) I desperately want people to hear the AWESOME NEWS about Jesus!  2) I want to get my music into as many hands, ipods, cell phones, computers, cd players, etc. as possible--of course I need to make a little money along the way just to maintain Guitar Jams and keep things going--but there are two far  more important reason why I want to get my music out there--first, because all of my projects are designed to honor God and communicate the Gospel to people, and second, because I'm an artist and I simply enjoy sharing my muisic with people... and as a member of the METAL MILITIA you will have lots of opportunities to help me get the music out there!  AND MORE there's more ... but I don't want to bore you too much tiny print.   :-)
