Pastor Brad's FREE Metal Guitar Lessons The Minor Scale I'm not trying to "reinvent the wheel here", so when I find somebody out there who's done a great job of teaching something... I give them FULL CREDIT and post it! Here's Ky's lesson on the Minor Scale! By: Ky MacPherson Hey kids, my name is Ky, and I am going to teach you the Minor scale! The minor scale is very popular in heavy metal, as well as a lot of other types of music. So even if you don't care for heavy metal, you will learn something helpful here! To me the minor scale sounds kind of "sad" or "dark" while the major scale comes off as "happy" or "bright". Here we are ascending and descending in the A minor scale on the A string: A---0--2--3--5--7--8--10--12--12--10--8--7--5--3--2--0 Now here's an easier way to play it using several strings: E------------------------------------------------------- B-------------------------------------------------------- G-------------------------------------------------------- D------------------------5--7----------------------------- A-------------5--7--8----------------------------------- E--5--7--8----------------------------------------------- i r p i r p i r (Suggested fingers...)
