RECORDING & PRODUCTION NOTES: This is my third release. As with Get Real and Rock You Up, the recording studio
for this one was in my office at the Michiana Community Church of God, Granger,
IN. After everyone was done for the day--I'd set up and record
tracks. i mixed it right there in the office as well. And
this is the very first project that I mastered on my own. But I have to express
my thanks to Matt Wolley once again--his advice was leaned on heavily. Thanks bro! PERSONAL THOUGHTS: This one is kind of special to me because just about half of the songs on this one were writen by myself and various band members I jammed with in the 80s and early 90s. The riff for the title track is the VERY FIRST riff I remember ever actually playing with a band. And of course the story behind the title is special to me as well. In the 1980s, a group of us had stars in our eyes and we all thought we'd become the next KISS, AC/DC or Iron Maiden. We all got instruments and decided to form a band. We called it MALACHI--inspired by the kid in "The Children of the Corn" movie. None of us were believers at the time, and we probably didn't even know there was a Biblical Prophet by that name :-). Anyway--we practiced everyday in David McFall's garage--which we affectionately called "The Hellhole". By "practiced" I mean we hung out, got high and made a lot of noise. In 1987 I surrendered my heart to Jesus. And of course, from that day forward all I wanted to do was rock for THE ROCK! So, when I put this collection of old and new songs together. I thought it was very fitting to use the "first riff" I remembered playing in the Hellhole and build a tune around it (Out of the Hellhole). This song tells the story of how God led me OUT OF THE HELLHOLE and into His awesome grace! |

"I am listing to OUT OF THE HELLHOLE... as I type... Being 35 this summer,
I remember all those great groups that musically were great, but lyrically brought
me down after being born again in '93. I was a huge KISS and AC-DC fan.
It is great to find Christian music hat fills those musical longings.
As I can afford it I hope to buy more of your cd's." Jason Wilkinson Tok, AK |
