Metal Believer's Question...
"And he said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise."  (KJV)

Does this mean it's wrong for people to set up product tables(witness wear etc.) in church?

Thanks and God Bless!

My Response...
No...  that's the short answer.

The problem in that passage was the attitude in the hearts of the people selling.  They were "making a buck" off religion---and ... if you read on Jesus says, "My house is to be a house of prayer--but you have made it a den of robbers..." implication--they were ripping people off!  They were selling animals they knew people needed for sacrifice--at rip-off prices.

So, if you have a music artist who comes to your church... and all they want to do is make a buck by posing as a Believer so they can sell a bunch of Tshirts/Cds to church folks at rip-off prices... THAT'S a problem... but if they come with a genuine desire to lift up Christ and minister to people---and they offer thier products at fair prices... NO PROB.

Blessings,
