Guitar Jams Home

I truly sensed that God was calling me... again...  He had called me to follow Him thousands of times before I finallly surrendered to Christ during the summer of 1987... and then again in 1990 when he called me into ministry... and now... here in 2009 He is calling me again--to be a Metal Pastor... to lift Him up before the metal community.  There are a lot of experiences that have confirmed this calling recently... but none more powerful than this letter I received from Faith Factor guitarist, Blaine Booth.  God used this letter to remove all doubt and solidify the call.  I share it with you simply to comemorate the moment and celebrate it with you.

Hey Pastor,

Blaine here. The one true constant thing that Jesus has taught me personally in his Christian Metal ministry, is that this was not going to be easy, and that is, becoming his disciple! But brother I gotta tell ya,  I have been so blessed by God - well, I could go on forever. Norm is my brother. He is a brother, beyond friendship and we are bound by the blood of Jesus ! We are paired disciples.

My main focus - in all that I do - is Christ Jesus, Why?

Because the two main questions that God will ask me at my judgement is :

1) - Did you know my son?, and

2) - What did you do with that knowledge of my son? (this one is very intriging) I believe it is where ministires are born. Mind , Body ,Spirit , and soul - in everything that you do !  JESUS !

So , I believe in the teaching modality of Jesus, and tho many have said to me, "Blaine, your a Pastor , and you don't know it"    -    I know what my gifts are from God, the abilities to do something for him, the way he made me, and how he customized me, and bro, one is playing guitar - it is my truest hearts desire - it took me 42 years , to understand his deepest meaning for me, and that was to use my talent, my guitar ability given to me, and to stop doing it for myself, and to do it for him!

Pastor, weather you tell people about Jesus from behind a puplpit, or standing on a stage in front of thousands of screaming un-believing Metal fans - is still the basis of your and my calling- all men's calling - to plant seeds of the Great Commission and spread the good news of Jesus. So your "nutty" goal is no 'nuttier" than mine, or Ski's - God knows the true passion of our hearts, and it is his son, Jesus.

What is your burning passion ?   It sounds like a Chirst centered Metal ministry to me. Which you are already doing presently. I don't believe in my heart, that Jesus would think differently of you, for taking your minsitry outward, away from your home church surroundings, to speak to people of his love and grace - kinda sounds like a teacher we know, and how he instructed his "disciples" to continue in his work.

And bro , I tell everyone I meet, I'm not a rockstar, I'm a Godstar !

Pastor, you know the God I know - I believe you to be a man , who hear's God's words, and puts them to action. If the Holy Spirit is lifting you up to something new, or if God himself is asking you to do this, then as a Christian brother I am here to tell you to do it !

The unknown - yeah, Christ said it would'nt be easy !

But he did tell us something very deep from his heart - and that is to trust him, unconditionally. He told us that at times, our own family will come against us , for the trust we elevate to in him...but his promise is to prosper us, to broaden our knowledge and perspective to new and greater things. He told us to give our worries to him, and let him lead us in the purpose God has for our lives.

Allow God the time to speak to your heart, he will instruct you as to his will for your life,

and he knows your hearts desire !

So here is what Ski and I call "power on the spot" :

"Father in Heaven,

we come to you at this moment in sincere prayer to lift our brother Brad up to you. Lord fill his heart with your great voice and provide clear guidance to him for your purpose and will in his life. We come united, bound by the blood of the Lamb, at the foot of the cross, and we ask of this in his precious name, Jesus"  Amen.

Defending the Faith,
Blaine Booth
