Understanding my tablature

I tried really hard to make my tablature
as simple as possible!  Below I will walk you, step by step, through everything you will need to know in order to use my tablature and learn to play!

hB = a half step bend, i.e. you shold bend this note to the place that it matches to tone you would hear if you played that string ONE FRET HIGHER.

wB = a whole step bend, i.e. you should bend this note to the place that it matches the tone you would hear if you played that string TWO FRETS HIGHER.

hBr or wBr = do a half or whole step bend then release  to the natural note... i.e. "un-bend it" and return to the "natural" position.

H = hammer-on

P = pull-off

~~~ = a trill, i.e. a quick series of hammer-ons/pull-offs back to back.
u = upstroke with you pick
d = down stroke with you pick.
i = index finger
m = middle finger
r = ring finger
p = pinky finger
Numbers always represent frets, i.e. a 3 = 3rd fret
I will always lay everything out in this form...
E ---1--2--3--4-----------------------------------------------------------  High E string
B ------------------1--2--3--4--------------------------------------------
  B string
G ---------------------------------1--2--3--4-----------------------------
G string
D ------------------------------------------------1--3 wBr---------------
D string
A ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A string
E ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Low E string
      i   m    r   p   i   m   r  p  i   m   r   p   i   r
  (fingers)
     d   u    d   u  d   u   d  u  d   u   d  u   d  u
(pick stroke direction)
                                                                                                 NOTE: I will only indicate this when
                                                                                                 it's really important--i.e. in certain
                                                                                                 picking exercises, etc.
Note:  the notes are read from left to right... in order... if notes are directly above one another they are played at the same time... as in a chord.
You can refer back to this page if you come across anything that confuses you in the lessons!  Now... go learn to jam!
